Dandelion

Sam Creighton

Permanent tear stain on my shoulder

I'm the first person you call

I'm always dropping everything to come over

Tell you its nothing at all

Then I finally get a second to sit down

A moment to myself before I break down

I got way too good at putting out fires

Left me burned and I'm tired

Just like a dandelion in the wind

It's in my blood to spread myself too thin

But I do it over and over again

and again and again

Just like a dandelion I might

Fade away but if you come back to life

I do it over and over again

and again and again

I don't recognize my reflection

I haven't eaten in days

Put my life on hold just to hold you

I won't sleep unless I know you're ok

Can I finally get a second to sit down

A moment to myself before I break down

I got way too good at putting out fires

Left me burned and I'm tired

Just like a dandelion in the wind

It's in my blood to spread myself too thin

But I do it over and over again

and again and again

Just like a dandelion I might

Fade away but if you come back to life

I do it over and over again

and again and again

You say you don't know

what you'd do without me

So tell me why you're never asking about me

You don't see I'm really not doing much better

I'm losing it trying to keep it together

Just like a dandelion in the wind

It's in my blood to spread myself too thin

But I do it over and over again

and again and again

Just like a dandelion I might

Fade away but if you come back to life

I do it over and over again and again and again

Again and again and again

Again and again and again
